Pamela Whalan has been involved in all aspects of community theatre for the last fifty years. She is a member of the Jane Austen Society of Australia and has presented papers at conferences on the work of Jane Austen in Australia, the United States of America and Canada. Combining her extensive knowledge of the works of Austen and the practicalities of stage production she has written three adaptations of Austen novels: Mansfield Park: a play; Sense and Sensibility: a play; and Persuasion: a play. It is her intention to adapt the other three major works of Austen in the forseeable future.
